uPVC Perfect Fit Shutters

Perfect Fit frames clip over your window beading, requiring no holes, screws, or permanent fixtures.

uPVC Perfect Fit shutters are lightweight plastic shutters that give you the look of premium plantation shutters without the wooden shutter weight or maintenance. They’re made from tough, rigid uPVC with a smooth finish that looks dead smart, and they clip into Perfect Fit frames that attach to your window beading without any drilling. The result is a shutter installation that’s quick, affordable, damage-free to your windows, and perfect for rental properties or anyone who doesn’t want holes in their walls.

We’ve been installing this fantastic product since 2023, and it’s been a massive success. This new concept of uPVC shutters brings beautifully looking designs into lightweight and more affordable form. The hard plastic is rigid and proven to offer excellent performance and durability. It’s long lasting and requires very little maintenance, making it the perfect solution when used in areas like bathrooms or kitchens where moisture is a concern. They’re also very resistant to damages, making them more children friendly than delicate wooden alternatives.

The Perfect Fit frame system clips over your window beading just like Perfect Fit blinds do – no drilling, no screws, no damage. The uPVC shutter panels sit in this frame and operate like traditional shutters with tilting louvres for light control and panels that swing open for window access. From across the room, they look like proper wooden shutters. Up close, you’ll see they’re plastic, but they’re quality plastic with a convincing finish that doesn’t look cheap or obviously fake.

uPVC shutters are particularly brilliant for bathrooms where wooden shutters would struggle with steam and moisture, kitchens where cooking heat and grease are concerns, and rental properties where you need style without permanent installation. They’re also great for families with young kids because the uPVC doesn’t dent, scratch, or damage as easily as painted wood – little hands grabbing them or toys being thrown won’t leave marks.

Why Choose uPVC Perfect Fit Shutters

No Drilling Installation – Perfect Fit frames clip over your window beading, requiring no holes, screws, or permanent fixtures. Ideal for rentals, they leave the window undamaged when removed, securing your full deposit. Smart choice even for new uPVC windows.

Moisture and Steam Resistant – uPVC is impervious to moisture. It won’t warp, swell, or absorb water in steamy bathrooms or kitchens, unlike wood. It resists mould and stains and is easily wiped clean, making it perfect for damp areas.

Lightweight but Strong – Lighter than wood, uPVC shutters are easier to operate and stress the frame less. Panels swing and louvres tilt effortlessly. Despite the low weight, they are rigid, strong, and engineered for durability, not flimsy.

Dead Easy to Clean – A simple wipe with a damp cloth or spray keeps them spotless. uPVC resists dirt, grease, and stains without the need for special cleaning products, offering the lowest maintenance option.

Affordable Alternative – uPVC shutters cost significantly less than wooden plantation shutters, providing the same aesthetic and light control benefits without the premium investment.

Move With the Window – Since the Perfect Fit frame attaches to the window, the shutters move when the window opens. This is essential for tilt-and-turn windows or small windows needing ventilation.

Things Worth Knowing

uPVC Shutters: Limitations and Considerations

Plastic Appearance Up Close – uPVC shutters look good from a distance, but they lack the natural grain, texture, and warmth of real wood up close. They are quality plastic, not a fake wood substitute.

Limited Colour – Typically offered in white, sometimes cream or grey, uPVC doesn’t have the wide colour or stain range of wooden shutters. White is ideal for matching most uPVC window frames.

Not for Very Large Windows – The lightweight construction is not rigid enough for very large windows, which require the strength of wooden shutters. Suitable for standard windows like those in bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchens. We advise on maximum size upon measuring.

Perfect Fit Frame Requirements – Perfect Fit need specific protruding window beading to clip onto. They work with most standard uPVC windows but not flush casements, very old uPVC profiles, or wooden windows. We confirm suitability during our visit.

Cannot Be Refinished – Unlike wood, uPVC shutters cannot be sanded down or repainted if you wish to change the colour, as the colour is integral to the plastic or its finish. This is an advantage for those wanting a permanent white finish.

Temperature Expansion – As with all plastic, uPVC slightly expands in heat and contracts in cold, which is accounted for in the design but may be noticeable. Wooden shutters similarly react to humidity.

    PRECISION SHUTTERS FOR MODERN DOORS

Measured to fit perfectly. Installed securely. Designed for lasting privacy and clean lines.

What's the difference between shutters and blinds?

Shutters are fixed to your window frame and become part of your home, while blinds hang inside or outside the window recess. Shutters are more permanent and add value to your property, whereas blinds are easier to swap out if you fancy a change. Shutters tend to last longer – we’re talking decades rather than years – and they’re generally better at insulating your windows. That said, they’re more of an investment upfront, while blinds are usually cheaper to get started with.

Proper quality shutters should last 20 years or more, easy. We’ve seen plantation shutters that are still going strong after 30 years. The uPVC ones are even tougher in some ways because they don’t warp or fade like wood can if it’s not looked after. As long as you don’t go swinging on them or slamming them about, they’ll outlast most other window coverings by a mile. It’s one of the reasons they’re such good value—you pay once and forget about them for decades.

Not at all—they’re actually one of the easiest window coverings to keep clean. Just give them a quick wipe with a damp cloth every now and then, and they’re sorted. For wooden shutters, you might want to use a bit of wood polish once in a blue moon to keep them looking their best. The uPVC ones need even less—just a wipe down with soapy water when they get a bit grubby. No complicated cleaning, no taking them down to wash them, no faffing about with specialist products.

Absolutely. Shutters create an extra barrier between your room and the window, which helps keep heat in during winter and out during summer. They’re particularly good at reducing heat loss through your windows at night when you close them up. You won’t see a massive drop in your bills overnight, but over time it does add up. Plus, they help keep rooms cooler in summer without running fans or air conditioning, which saves you a few quid there too.
